Juana's Chili-Cookoff Winners

Navarre resident Dano Bauman walked away with four wins in six categories at Juana's 17th annual Chili Cook-off and Volleyball Tournament Sunday.

Bauman won in the Salsa, Carnivore Amore, Double Burner and Fowl Chili categories, the most out of any chili cook-off participant.

The event raises money each year for Caring and Sharing of South Santa Rosa County. This year, with 19 pots of chili entered and dozens of prizes auctioned off, the event brought in $2,500 for the local charity.

The total amount was down by $500 from last year, however, that was due to the volleyball tournament being cancelled. The volleyball tournament has been rescheduled to this Sunday, Oct. 17. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. Funds raised at that event will also go to Caring and Sharing.
