The volunteer group working to build a nearshore marine sanctuary at Navarre Beach is making substantial progress, according to the group’s chairman, Mark Griffith.
“A preliminary (Santa Rosa) Sound-side permit is close to completion,” Griffith reported last week. A consulting company has identified two possible reef locations in the sound, one in water 12 feet deep about 10 feet from shore just west of the easternmost pavilion and another, about 20 feet deep, closer to Mom’s Beach.
