The Navarre Marine Advisory Committee wants to have input in any future land uses that border water ways in Navarre and the sur rounding area.
During a Jan. 9 Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners meeting, the recommendation was put forth by County Administrator Hunter Walker on behalf of the committee.
In a 3-0 vote taken at a Dec. 6 MAC meeting, the committee recommended commissioners correct a loophole under the current Land Development Code guidelines that allow for development on water ways.
The recommendation came after the committee discovered a possible flaw in the county’s Land Use Restrictions during the construction of the RV Park at Indian Bayou.
