The Gulf Coast Kiln Walk Society Inc. spent several weekends earlier this month getting its newest addition ready for its first firing.
“We started a fire in it just to make sure everything checked out,” said Jason Stokes, one of the artists leading the reconstruction of the 64-year-old groundhog kiln.
