Keeping safe during a ‘shelter in place’

A fire that engulfed a local business on East Bay Boulevard ignited a short-term fear for area residents.

When Aqua Water Treatment Inc. succumbed to flames Nov. 12, a shelter-in-place ordered was  issued for residents within a half-mile radius of the business. The precautionary measure was taken in the event chemicals were burned and emitted into the air.
