It was a warm day on Navarre Beach in early 2002. A man took a bag from a woman and began distributing ashes into the Gulf of Mexico. 

The 2010 book Boxes: The Secret Life of Howard Hughes, said those cremated remains were those of Verner "Nik'' Nicely. And Boxes author Douglas Wellman claims Nik was actually Hughes, one of the 20th century's most iconic business and aviation figures.
