Santa Rosa county commission split over aerial photos

A picture may be worth 1,000 words, but a set of aerial photographs will cost Santa Rosa County $137,410.

That’s how much the county commission agreed to pay Pictometry Corp. to provide what the company’s Web site described as a  “geo-referential aerial oblique image library.”  Property Appraiser Greg Brown asked the county to pay for the private company’s service rather than rely on the Florida Department of Revenue’s mapping division.
