Eagle Scout clears brush in Gulf Breeze

When Hurricane Ivan struck the Panhandle in 2004, it carved a path of destruction, tearing up homes and businesses and a small nature trail in Gulf Breeze.

On a grand scale, the trail might seem minuscule in priority to those with damaged homes, but to those who live on Keniworth Avenue, the path was like a small piece of heaven – right in their backyards.
The same trail had to be cleared once before, the result of a different storm. At that time, Eagle Scout Dean Crouch organized a group to remove the debris and among the workers was Dustine Emerson, now 16.
