The Navarre Krewe of Jesters said one of the big highlights of the 27th Annual Navarre Beach Mardi Gras Parade is the addition of the Krewe of Lafitte from Pensacola.
Lafitte will be bringing down one of its floats, “The Sword,” to join in the revelry Feb. 2 alongside the Jesters.
“They are bringing their big ship,” said LeAnn Whichard, Jesters’ treasurer.
Jester President Wayne Hall said this is a big deal for the Jesters, because in the past their parade has conflicted with the Pensacola Beach parade and this year the Jesters decided to move it back one week in an effort to entice other krewes from neighboring cities to join in the revelry.
“Their rig far surpasses anything we had before,” Hall added.
