Waste Management responds to driver complaint

The Central Landfill on DaLisa Road in Bagdad is where household garbage ends up. When one area is full, it is grassed over and another area is created to offload the waste of Santa Rosa County residents.

On Jan. 8, a Waste Management truck driver was seen dumping both regular trash and recyclables into the same truck on Harvest Village Court in Navarre even though recyclables are supposed to be picked up separately.

A witness lodged a complaint with the county commissioners and a video of the violation was forwarded to Waste Management for action.

“When we received the email to the commission to us, we appreciate it a great deal,” said Lynn Yort, Waste Management public sector solutions. “Those were great eyes on.”
