When Daryn McMullen decorated his home with Christmas lights in Lighthouse Pointe subdivision five years ago, he did so with the memory of his grandmother in mind.
“We lived in a small town in Washington,” said McMullen of his childhood years. “We had a contest for who had the best house and we decorated so much, the cars would back up and look. Every year, we had a blue ribbon.”
