Deputy tax collector faces more charges

Collinsworth

Edward Collinsworth, Santa Rosa County chief deputy tax collector, is now facing 15 charges of sexual battery against a child under the age of 12.

Collinsworth, 45, of Pace was charged on Oct. 10 with sexual battery on two victims under the age of 12. The alleged sexual battery occurred from 1979-1986. The victims stated that the battery began when they were 5 or 6 and continued until they were about 12.

Collinsworth was charged with 10 counts on Oct. 9. Assistant State Attorney James Parker said that the addition five charges were added after a third victim came forward earlier this week.
