Ban of state-funded abortions proposed

Even though federal law already bans taxpayer-funded abortions, Florida’s 2012 Amendment 6 proposes the same ban for the state of Florida.

As with the other amendments, the proposal originated with the state legislature. In essence, it would prohibit the State Constitution from being interpreted in such a way as to create broader rights than those in the U.S. Constitution.
