Gov. Scott in Pensacola promoting tourism

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) — Gov. Rick Scott has a message for tourists concerned that Hurricane Isaac washed out their Labor Day weekend plans. Come on down.

Florida's governor was in Pensacola Thursday to promote travel to the Panhandle and to talk with hospitality and tourism leaders about economic recovery from the storm that lashed the coastline this week.

It was windy and rainy in Pensacola Thursday morning, but tourism officials are hoping to rebound with a strong end-of-summer holiday weekend.

Scott was expected to have breakfast with tourism officials before stopping by the Hilton on Pensacola Beach to meet with the staff and visitors.

Scott is making stops at Jackson's Steakhouse, Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front and the National Naval Aviation Museum.
