Pensacola Junior College’s Zoo Technical Program is one of 12 programs in the nation making a way for future leaders in the animal world.
The two-year associate of science program trains students to be zookeepers.
“Graduates of the program go on to do all kinds of professions in the field,” said Joyce Kaplan, program director. “Most courses are specialized. They have lectures on the animals, theory courses, nutrition, behavior, dissection and they even learn record keeping."
