Navarre teens try out for ‘Idol’

What if I really am good enough? What if they say yes? What if they say no? What if I actually make it? What if they tell me I should give it up?

The proverbial “what if” that keeps many from trying, did not deter two young Navarre singers from trying out for “American Idol” on July 17 at the New Orleans Arena.

Hayley Musick, 16, and Howie Johnson, 17, joined about 5,000 hopefuls in New Orleans, La., readying themselves to sing for 30 seconds for an unknown producer.
