Former library director sues county

Former Santa Rosa County Library Director Linda Hendrix filed a federal lawsuit against the county June 25 alleging wrongful termination under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

In the lawsuit, she claims the county terminated her contract after she had surgery to remove cancer. The lawsuit states that she took approved intermittent Family and Medical leave between Sept. 15, 2010 and Feb. 1, 2011. She also claims that the county failed and refused to accommodate her known disabilities, and as a result of her disabilities demoted her and offered to transfer her to Milton before she was finally terminated on July 25, 2011.
