Navarre resident Al Carlson is calling for all gun-right activists to bring their guns and fishing poles out to Navarre Beach Fishing Pier on July 7 to raise awareness about Florida’s Open Carry law.
Carlson fishes on the pier about four days a week and he carries his gun with him.
“I’m doing the same thing others are doing day in and day out,” he said. “It’s just a visual thing.”
Carlson said Florida law only allows citizens to openly carry their weapon when they are target shooting, fishing, hunting and camping.
