The Santa Rosa County Inland Potable Wellfied Protection Workgroup meeting Jan. 30 produced solid recommendations that will be forwarded to the Zoning Board for further discussion.
Etta Lawler said she is “hopeful it will move forward.”
Lawler stressed the importance of the recommendations. One of the recommendations would ensure large quantity generators of hazardous waste are not permitted in the Wellfield area that includes the Fairpoint Utility System.
“They will allow a lot of businesses, just not the business that have large-quantity hazardous material,” she said.
The recommendations, if approved, will be incorporated into the Wellfield Protection Ordinance.
