Bama Jordan has always felt a calling to help women in need. For years, she and a friend dreamed about opening a home for battered women and children to assist them in getting off the streets and getting their lives on track.
That dream is now a reality. Jordan operates Faith House, a facility in Santa Rosa County that is dedicated to helping women and children make a better life for themselves.
In support of that mission, Jordan has opened the Faith House Thrift Store on U.S. Highway 98 across from the Baptist Medical Park. The thrift store is the culmination of years of hard work that began one rainy day with a small yard sale.
Jordan and a friend organ ized a yard sale at Midway House of Faith to raise money for Faith House. Rain forced them indoors, but did not defeat their spirit.
Today, Faith House Thrift Store is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m Monday through Sat urday. The store is filled with household items, clothes, toys and many name-brand items for shoppers to pur chase.
