Legally, the health inspection report should be visible to customers, but few see them.
Food establishments undergo annual health inspections performed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation Division of Hotels and Restaurants.
While members of the public might wish to eat at a restaurant without any violations, it is not as easy as it seems. Only two establishments out of about 66 restaurants inspected in Navarre between July and December received perfect inspections; Dirt Road Cookers and Dippin Dots.
However, Alphy’s Catfish House, Paco’s Grill and Bar, Best Western, Banana Beach and Hampton Inn & Suites had only one violation over all. Beach BerryYogurt had a perfect opening inspection on Dec. 22. Taco Bell in Navarre only had two violations during an August inspection.
Many restaurants had more than eight critical violations. Guglielmo’s Italian Restaurant had 14 critical violations and seven non-critical viola tions during an Aug. 19 inspection.
