No one was injured in a yard debris fire that spun out-of-control Wednesday.
Firefighters from Holley-Navarre, Navarre Beach and Midway were called to the scene of 7028 Sawfish St., in Navarre at 11:02 a.m. for a reported brush fire. In all, roughly 10 firefighters were needed to battle the blaze.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a fire burning and spreading rapidly in an undeveloped area behind the home, which is comprised of thick woods with a limited access.
"The fire spread from an area where the homeowner had previously conducted burning of yard debris," explained Holley-Navarre Fire Chief Ron Norton via e-mail.
The fire burned about a half-acre and caused minor damage to the owner's storage shed. All contents were saved.
