Spreading Halloween joy, treats

The spoils of a night of Trick or Treating delight children across the country. Coming home and sorting through a mountain of sugary treats is a right of passage, but one local orthodontist office is aiming to help parents limit the number of sweets that children consume.

Sheehee & Callahan is hosting their annual Candy Exchange from Nov. 1 through Nov. 4. Parents and their children can drop off unwrapped candy and receive a free firefly light-up toothbrush and goody bag.

All the collected candy will be donated to the USO in Pensacola to benefit the troops. All area residents are welcome to participate in the Candy Exchange, children don’t need to be patients of Sheehee & Callahan.

Sheree Garman, marketing director for Sheehee & Callahan said that this is the first year the office has donated the candy to the USO in Pensacola.

“Last time, we sent it off to another organization that sends it out to the troops,” said Garman, “But this year we felt our local community could benefit from it and the USO is really excited about it.”
