As the holiday season approaches, the community is banning together to make sure every family has a memorable Thanksgiving and Christmas no matter what hardships the year brought to them.
Juana’s Pagoda’s is holding its 18th annual Charity Chili Cook-off this Sunday to benefit Caring and Sharing of South Santa Rosa County.
Participants will have an opportunity to sample more than 25 different chilis while also giving back to a worthy organization that has been providing food and toys to needy families in South Santa Rosa for more than 30 years.
Everyone is a judge and winners will receive prizes for People’s Choice, Fowl Chili, Double Burner, Bean There Farted That, Carnivore Amore and Juana Salsa categories. All chefs receive a commemorative chili mug. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and each cook must pay a $10 entry fee. Set up will begin at noon and tasting is from 2-4 p.m.
