When he joined the Air Force, Capt. Chad Bubanas, an AC-130H gunship commander, took an oath to serve and protect the United States.
As part of the Air Force Special Operations Command on Hurlburt Field, he also promised to look out for his comrades.
In May 2007, in the desert of Afghanistan, Bubanas’ character and skills were called into action. A routine patrol mission turned into a life-threatening ordeal.
