South Santa Rosa Interfaith Ministries was recently name a finalist of a grant from IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay Area.
The value of the grant is $107,500, and will be awarded Oct. 16.
Interfaith Ministries applied for the grant this year to fund their project Truck on a Mission to Help the Needy.
"Over the past few years we realized that not being able to have a vehicle to pick up large items for sale in our thrift shop was impacing our bottom line," said Shirley Cornett, executive director for Interfaith Ministries. "The major portion of our income is put back into helping people in Santa Rosa County who are in financial need."
Interfaith Ministries has asked for the grant to purchase a box truck with a liftgate in order to be able to pick up large items from donors. The donated itemas are placed for sale in their thrift store. The money raised from the thrift store goes to fund the charitables works that Interfaith Ministries funds, such as the Good Samaratin Clinic.
