Artistic pieces to reflect the heart of Gulf Breeze

The City of Gulf Breeze is gearing up for its 50th anniversary celebration to begin with a VIP dinner on Aug. 20 and end with a community-wide outdoor barbecue and fireworks show on Oct. 22.

As part of the celebration the city has developed a plan to install five permanent outdoor artist pieces throughout the community. Mayor Beverly Zimmer told council members Monday that she’s pleased with the program so far.

“Art adds to the richness of a community,” she said. “I’m excited that this idea will come to fruition.”
The program will cost an estimated $250,000 and be funded in part by Gulf Breeze Financial Services. At least $125,000 of this will be funded by donors.
