TEAM exec talks industry

Cindy Anderson, executive director of TEAM Santa Rosa Economic Development Council, spoke to the Navarre Area Board of Realtors on Aug. 11 about the importance of economic development.

When she opened up the discussion for questions, Dorothy Slye, a property manager in Navarre, said she understood the “T” in TEAM stood for tourism.

“You guys need to be recruiting motels and recruiting water parks or things that compliment our tourism industry,” Slye told Anderson. 

“That’s what your tourism department needs to do,” Anderson said. “There’s an entire entity just for that purpose.” She said TEAM would miss opportunities to bring in businesses if it focused its time only on the tourism industry.
