The Santa Rosa Tourist Development Council may be expanding its mission after discussing the allowable uses of county bed-tax funding during an Aug. 17 meeting.
TDC member Dorothy Slye told the board a recent presentation from Cindy Anderson, executive director of TEAM Santa Rosa Economic Development Council, at a board of realtors meeting had her questioning the TDC’s goals.
When Slye asked Anderson why TEAM didn’t try to recruit tourism industries, Anderson said it was the TDC’s job to increase tourism because TEAM was supposed to go after industries. By her definition an industry is a company that brings new money into a community.
