Two receive minor injuries in early morning crash

Two Gulf Breeze residents were treated for minor injuries and released from Gulf Breeze Hospital last week, following a two-car crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and Whisper Bay Boulevard.

Dana M. Gardner, 37, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no proof of auto insurance.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, Gardner was traveling eastbound on U.S. 98 shortly before 7:30 a.m. Aug. 11.

At the same time, Sanford M. Epstein, 64, was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto westbound U.S. 98.
Both drivers told FHP they believed they had a green light.

Gardner continued straight, while Epstein made his turn, crashing into the side of Gardner’s car.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, and alcohol is not a factor in the crash.
