At the Monday, Aug. 22 commission committee meeting, the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners will discuss the future of the Santa Rosa Transit Program.
The year-long pilot public transportation program ends on Nov. 30.
Federal funds are available to continue the program for a second year, but the commission must decide if county funds, which are needed to match the federal funds, will be allocated in order to provide service for an additional year. In 2010, the board approved $33,140 for the initial one-year operation as a pilot program.
