12 candidates prefiled for 2012 Elections

Santa Rosa County will hold eight elections in 2012, and 12 candidates have already prefiled to run for office.

            According to the Santa Rosa County elections office, elections will be held for the clerk of court, property appraiser, sheriff, supervisor of elections, tax collector, board of county commissioners districts 1, 3 and 5, school superintendent and school board districts 2 and 4.

 Avalon Fire Seats 2 and 4, Midway Fire Seats 1, 3 and 5, Holley-Navarre Fire Seats and Blackwater Soil and Conservation Seats 2 and 4, Gulf Breeze, Jay and Milton also will hold elections.

            Mary Johnson, incumbent, and Donald Charles Spencer, both of Milton, are running on the republican ticket for clerk of court; J. Ed Carson of Pace and Jeffery Kelley of Jay will both run on the republican ticket for board of county commissioners district 3 and Commissioner Lane Lynchard is so far unopposed on the republican ticket for board of county commissioners district 5.
