The following items were discussed during the July 14 meeting of the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners:
- The commissioners approved $15,000 for the engineering services for the Agriplex equestrian center.
- Qunia Grundhoefer Architects will design the Pace Community Center and voting precinct.
- A three month contract was approved for Florida State University for the mosquito surveillance program; the contract was formerly conducted by Florida A&M University.
- SCS Engineers, Geo Syntec Consultants and HDR Engineering, Inc. were awarded a contract for landfill/environmental services.
- The commissioners voted to send out for Requests For Proposals for recycling services at the Central Landfill. They want to know if privatizing this service would be better financially for the County.
- Pace and Jay Community Emergency Response Teams will receive cargo trailers. The organizations will be responsible for tags, registration and insurance.
- RMS Timberlands, LLC was awarded a two year contract for the removal of dirt/clay from Gomillion and Cannon borrow pits as needed.
- Navarre Park will be the site of the third annual Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Taste of Navarre October 22.
- Juana’s inaugural Halloween Volleyball Classic will be October 28-30 pending refinement of event location.
