Navarre native and 2006 Navarre High School graduate Julianna Hendley has been accepted into the Teach for America program’s 2011 corps and will be teaching in Atlanta, Ga.
The competition to join the program this year was fierce; almost 48,000 people applied and 11 percent were accepted. Hendley will join about 5,200 other new teachers in the program.
Teach for America is the national corps of top recent college graduates who commit to teach for two years in urban and rural public schools and become lifelong leaders in the pursuit of educational equity.
