The Holley Navarre Water System has been offering pay increases to its hourly employees since May as a reward for those who exceed expectations on the job.
Ken Walker, general manager, said that it is merit-based and employees can earn up to a .50-cent raise for the year.
“What it really amounts to is a merit based increase for those who rate it and those who don’t, don’t; it’s .50-cents max per employee,” said Walker. “It gives my management team and me a little flexibility to reward those who are doing well and pass over those who need to improve.”
