Reps. Broxson and Ford speak of patriotism, politics

The day after the nation celebrated its independence, a very patriotic group gathered to discuss issues affecting the local community, state and nation. 

The Republican Club of Santa Rosa County opened their doors to Reps. Doug Broxson, R-Pensacola, and Clay Ford, R-Gulf Breeze, at its monthly meeting at The Club at Hidden Creek July 5.  

The meeting began with a prayer and the pledge of allegiance.  Broxson said he admired the fact the club starts with a prayer and the pledge. 

“I think as you look at government both state, local, even national we need prayer,” Broxson said.  “The fact is that unless we have some divine intervention in our nation, we’re in serious, serious trouble.
