Holley Navarre Water System board members announced they will cut the ribbon for the new wastewater treatment plant located off Gordon Evans Road on July 22.
The announcement came at the water system’s monthly board meeting June 21.
Currently, the plant is ready to operate but must first go through an initial testing phase using potable water to check for leaks and defects before wastewater is allowed to enter the facility.
“We want to have a dry run with potable water so we can see how it’s going to work...once you have accomplished the test and confident everything will operate properly you can add the wastewater,” said Ken Walker, general manager of the Holley-Navarre Water System.
