Life’s a celebration, so dance.
That’s the motto that has local “celebrities” stepping up to the dance floor with “Dancing with the Stars” professionals during Covenant Hospice’s annual fundraiser, “Life’s a Dance.”
A few years ago, Victor Luna and Dawn Westberry, owners of Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Pensacola, went to Covenant hospice with the idea of a night featuring local celebrities in a local “Dancing with the Stars” competition, according to Leah Harrison, senior development manager with Covenant Hospice. The owners have a connection with the professional dancers on the show and were able to book a few for the fundraiser. Harrison said Covenant loved the idea and moved forward with it right away.
“We think life is a celebration and a way people celebrate is through dancing. So we came up with ‘Life’s a Dance,’” Harrison said.
