Lauren Book has a story and she wanted to get out there and tell people. The best way she could think of was to walk the streets and find people.
Book’s story is a heavy one of child abuse from the age of 11 to the age of 16 or 17 by her nanny. At age 17 she told and now she wants to tell other survivors of sexual abuse that it’s OK to tell, too. In order to accomplish this, Book walked 1,000 miles across Florida last year to get the word out and has begun another walk this year as a part of the “Walk in My Shoes” campaign.
