The fourth annual Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce’s Thursdays in the Park concert series is set for another summer of weekly events beginning May 12.
This popular event seeing more than a thousand visitors per show is co-sponsored by the Navarre Press and was begun with the intention to provide entertainment locally.
“It was created to provide a community event where locals could come enjoy a free concert right here in Navarre instead of driving to Destin or Pensacola,” Bill Arnett, president/CEO of the chamber, said.
The concert series will be kicked off with Emerald Gold. The final list of all the bands performing concerts is not finalized at this time, but Arnett said they are working on a variety.
“I know that we have some bands that haven’t played before. We are booking some bands and entertainers that are local favorites,” Arnett said. “We heard that some folks were hoping to get some more diversity in the music. The committee worked to try and identify some entertainers that have not performed before and have some different styles of music.”
The concerts are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday nights throughout the summer through August 18. The community is invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets, but no pets, to the event.
