A hot topic, yet one needing to be discussed, is that of an assessment rate increase for residents and business owners in Navarre.

The topic is one of many that will be discussed at an upcoming budget workshop for the Holley-Navarre Fire District at 6 p.m. Oct. 6.

During a fire board commission meeting Sept. 22, Commissioner Nancy Morgan brought the rate increase subject to the forefront of conversation, letting the public know it was an option she and the rest of the board would consider for the upcoming year.
