Guests become citizens in Pensacola

Gulf Breeze resident, Saori Seabolt, stands with the judges that presided over the naturalization ceremony on Feb. 25. Circuit Court Judge T. Michael Jones, First Judicial Circuit, State of Florida; United States District Judge M. Casey Rodgers; and United States Magistrate Judge Miles Davis were the judges. A Navarre resident was one of about 100 people representing 41 countries to become a naturalized citizen during a ceremony Feb. 25 at the Governor Perry home in Pensacola.

Saori Seabolt was the new citizen and she said she enjoyed the ceremony.

“I felt welcomed,” said Seabolt.
According to a press release from the Office of the Clerk of the U.S. District Court, United States District Judge  M. Casey Rodgers presided over the ceremony, joined by United States Magistrate Judge Miles Davis and Circuit Court Judge T. Michael Jones, First Judicial Circuit, State of Florida.
Seabolt is originally from Japan and said the biggest difference for her is having to speak English all of the time, but her favorite part of living in this area is the weather and being so close to the beach.

For more on this story, see the March 10 edition of the Navarre Press or subscribe online.

In the original story it was mistakenly written that Seabolt was a Gulf Breeze resident. She is from Navarre. We regret this error.
