Beginnings of a Mardi Gras tradition

Burt Johnson, Cal Curtis Jr. and Bart Pullum celebrate Mardi Gras with traditional flower poles, beads and baubles with the other Jesters in the 2000 parade.Mardi Gras is in the air and the Navarre Krewe of Jesters is celebrating its silver anniversary this year after 25 years of fun.
The Krewe started in 1986, founded by Burt Johnson and Ken Leveque Jr. at the Navarre Orleans Restaurant in Navarre and was simply a group of people walking down the beach, celebrating Mardi Gras on Feb. 28.
