A State Road 87 Connector south of downtown Milton would take more traffic off U.S. Highway 90, but a northern track would move people from harm’s way more efficiently, an engineer said last week.
John Flora, project engineer for Metric Engineering, Inc., said the most efficient southern corridor studied could relieve traffic on U.S. 90 by 29 percent, compared to about 18 percent for the best northern alternative.
