Wilkins sentenced in ‘heinous’ standoff

A Fort Walton Beach man was sentenced to life in state prison for his part in a standoff with Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies in 2007.

Lyndal K. Wilkins, who was 38 years-old at the time of crimes, was also handed down concurrent sentences for aggravated stalking, possession of a short-barreled shotgun, and possession of burglary tools by Santa Rosa County Circuit Court Judge Marci Goodman.

Goodman called Wilkins’ crimes  “heinous” and described Wilkins as a  “malingerer and a manipulator.”
