Just days after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania, a local group of moms knew they had to do something – anything – to honor their heroes close to home.
So they did, and the tradition they created nine years ago is still going strong today.
Every September since 2001, the Navarre MOMS club has celebrated law enforcement and fire departments county-wide with a luncheon.
Coordinator Susan-Leigh Davis said it’s the least they could do.
