Candidate qualifying ended at noon Friday with 30 candidates officially in the running for 18 elected positions in Santa Rosa County.

Gordon Goodin, re-elected without opposition in 2006, faces four challengers for a third four-year term representing District 4 – which includes Holley, Navarre and Navarre Beach – on the Board of County Commissioners. Second District Commissioner Bob Cole of Milton also is seeking a third term and also has four opponents, including Ron Scott of Bagdad and Christian Party candidate Prudence Caskey of Milton.
