With a week left for applicants interested in running for a seat on the Holley-Navarre Fire District board of commissioners to file, one seat remains unclaimed – No. 1.

It's the seat currently held by Shannon Stone, who was appointed to fill the position vacated by Ed Blick this past January. Blick resigned due to a conflict with his work schedule and could not attend the monthly board meetings.

"I've been extremely busy with my work schedule and the kids, and I haven't been able to...(get to Milton)," Stone explained. "But I do plan on filing to run. I feel that I can make a difference, especially with my background and experience."
