Gulf Breeze man injured in two-car wreck

A Pensacola woman was cited for careless driving following a two-car collision Thursday evening.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, around 6:30 p.m., Mandelyn K. Prescott, 35, of Pensacola, was traveling east on U.S. Highway 98.

Also traveling east was Gregg. D. Jordan, 41, of Gulf Breeze.

Jordan had stopped behind other traffic at a red signal light at the intersection of Panhandle Trail and U.S. 98. At that time, Prescott failed to stop and struck the rear of Jordan's Chevrolet truck, the release states.

Jordan was transported to Eglin Air Force Base hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
