Become a Panhandle Butterfly House docent

The Panhandle Butterfly House in Navarre is seeking volunteers to be docents.

Docents are trained volunteers who contribute by educating and helping visitors gain a better understanding of butterflies and of the natural habitat in which butterflies thrive.

Docents greet the public, provide casual interpretations, and answer questions. Docents will have an opportunity to make a valuable and enriching contribution to the community.

Training classes are forming now for 2010.  Class size is limited to ensure that we can provide individual attention and training. All classes will be held at the Navarre Welcome Center and the Panhandle Butterfly House, 8543 Navarre Parkway.

To volunteer and register for a class or to request more information about becoming a docent, e-mail docents@panhandlebutterflyhouse.org

Select one of the following classes:

n April 17 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

n May 7 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

n June TBA

The Panhandle Butterfly House is open to the public Thursday-Saturday, April 29 to Sept. 4.  For more information about the Panhandle Butterfly House, go to the Web site   http://www.panhandlebutterflyhouse.org/ or call 850-623-3868.
